I have been asked this question by friends and acquaintances for as far back as I can remember. When frequenting chat rooms or having informal talks with my gay friends, the discussion has sooner or later wandered to this subject. For as far back as my early teen years, I have admired and held respect for men that were older than I. Perhaps, one reason is because I learned to value their years of experience and the knowledge and wisdom that only time can bring. There is an often-times great resource here that we as society too frequently ignore in favor of learning things the hard way, or vainly believing that we know more than they do since these are 'modern times'. There is also a certain charm and wit that I believe can only be acquired in time. I have been told that I am looking for a father figure to fill a void left behind by a weak or missing father. WRONG! I was very fortunate to have a father to raise me. He was most definitely NOT a weak man. He was of Irish heritage and he held very firm beliefs; in religion, politics and what he believed was right and wrong. Lastly, there is the unknown, unexplainable physical attraction that an older gentleman has. To use a phrase I've heard in a totally different context, "Prime Beef; aged to perfection". Another phrase I enjoy is, "The older the grape, the sweeter the wine"... Return to A Few Thoughts Why Do I Prefer Older Men?
