NAME: Lakemama CITY/TOWN: Malakoff STATE/PROVINCE: Texas COUNTRY: U.S.A.
This is a topic of controversy in our household. We live on a lake in East Texas & my husband insists that the lakeside is the front of the house & I insist that the streetside is the front, so I will descibe both. When you look out the streetside front I see a 3 tiered flower bed & steps leading up a hill. On the hill sits"old reliable"- our 1972 Chevy pick-up we call "Hugger". Now on the lakeside front I see, of course a wide expanse of water, our boat dock with our water toys, 2 boats, a waverunner and a recently acquired paddle boat. Alot of trees in our yard & all sorts of wildlife....squirrels,ducks,etc.
We have to drive 4 miles round-trip to a small community that is more or less a place to buy liquor. Since the liquor stores close down early we would have to drive 32 miles round-trip to the 24 hour Wal-Mart.
I don't think there would be any reaction in the city....in a small country town they are not as understanding & you might see some shaking of the heads.
My favorite hangout is my back(or my husband's front, whichever you prefer!) porch. Sitting on the swing, enjoying the wildlife & the tranquil view of the lake.
