The Eye of The World: An In Depth Look at Seals. Forsaken and other Trivial Bits of Silliness
Seals:
Seal One (of Seven): Found by Moraine Damodred in the Eye of the World
Forsaken:
Aginor, by the hand of Moraine Damodred at the Eye of the World
Balthamel, by the hand of the Green Man in the Eye of the World
Ishamael, by the hand of Rand al'Thor (the first time).
Trivial Nonsense:
One: In the beginning, all three boys felt the presence of the Myrddraal, though non e as strongly as Rand did.
How did Mordeth infect both Mat and Padan Fain (Ordeith) with the same dagger? I can't figure that out.
None of the three Forsaken defeated in this book were defeated by balefire (except that Ishamael will be), so either Balthamel or Aginor could be Aran'gar or Osan'gar. I'm plumping for Balthamel being Aran'gar, for the same reasons as everyone else. (ie, he finds being a woman both vaguely amusing and extremely annoying.) Perhaps it was the Dark One's punishment for failing at killing Rand which got him imprisoned in the body of a woman?
The Horn of Valere...ter'angreal or not? Who's to say Mat can't channel too? It would certainly be amusing.
Just before the book begins in earnest, there is a tidbit of prophecy: "Let the arm of the Lord of the Dawn shelter us and the great sword of justice defend us"...My guess is maybe that either the Seanchan (Hawkwing's descendants, who would ostensibly have his great sword JUSTICE) are going to be pacified by Rand in some way (although not by marriage! I think Mat marries the Empress, who is titled the Daughter of the Nine Moons (or maybe he marries one of the Empress' daughters???) or that perhaps he must use Callandor to defeat the Dark One? Sort of like the Master Sword...hee hee!! Back to the main Robert Jordan PageBack to the Index Back to my main Fantasy PageOn to a friend's fantasy site
