The ABC's annual Joe Weber Arky 100 features routes of 25, 50, 62 and 100 miles. Riders enjoyed perfect weather and a great ride in 2000 and 2001.

In addition to providing state-by-state lists of 700 rail trails, USTIC features links to state-specific weather forecasts, tourism information contacts and customized mapping.
There are also links to 12 U.S. trail groups and 10 international groups, and direct e-mail links to members of Congress. The Rails-to-Trails Conservancy is a 15-year-old non-profit organization seeking to create a nation-wide network of public trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors.

Special meeting of the ABC and other interested cyclists with Steve Weston of
the Ark Highway and Transportation Department.
Steve will discuss how the state uses available federal funds for bicycling and recreational trails and discuss cycling as alternative transportation.

How do you join?
All bicyclists are invited to ABC events. Dues of $15 for an individual, or $22 for a family include the monthly newsletter and various club activities. Most area bike shops offer a 10-percent discount off regular prices for ABC members.

Valentine Road Ride - 30
mile ride on Valentine Road in eastern Pulaski County. Meet next to the New York Bagel Cafe, just east of the Kroger at McCain and North Hills Blvd. Come early for a toasted bagel and coffee before the ride or you can have a bagel sandwich after the ride. Millennium Trail - Meet at the parking lot under the I-430 bridge in Little Rock. Ride the paved portions of the Little Rock to North Little Rock Millennium Trail. Mark Taylor (223-9362) will be instructing on breathing techniques and stress management benefits of aerobic excercise.
