Packet Radio

Last updated:Aug 5, 1997

Packet Radio is not only an enjoyable operating mode in itself, but is has quickly become the Amateur Radio information workhorse. A packet radio station is easy to set up, and allows the operater to send and receive e-mail, spot DX, page a friend, communicate with the Space Shuttle, MIR, and other satellites, obtain news bulletins, obtain local weather conditions, monitor mobile position reports, and pass traffic to amateurs and non-amateurs during disasters or quieter times
