Paxson Lake, July 1993
Don (my ex) and I took my Zodiak raft on a 4 day whitewater rafting trip thru central Alaska. This crude sail and a light wind saved me 3 miles of rowing! After sailing our way across Paxson Lake, the sun broke thru and we had 3 days where we baked in 85 degree sun.

Gulkana River, July 1993
I was struck by the beauty of this cabin in the middle of nowhere near the end of the first day.

Resurrection Bay, August 93
Mom shot this photo of Expressions, the 35' Express which I learned to sail on and was race crew on for my last 7 summers in Alaska. I'm the guy in the yellow Helly Hansons. :)

Aloha Anchorage, July 1994
Meredith (right) and her husband Frank (not shown) gave a great going away party when Don (left) and I (center) left Anchorage. The pic on my t-shirt looks a lot like my Taurus loaded up with road camping gear, mountain bikes and a sailboard or two.

Jasper, Alberta July 1994
At the end of a 16 mile mtn bike trail in Jasper.

The most important people in my life, Sammy and David
They're a bit older now, but just as cute. My niece's first catch.

Jasper, Alberta, July 1994

That's me climbing out of Medicine Lake. The air was warm, but the water was glacial!:)

Monkeying around

Makena Beach, January 1992
Don was living in Hawaii when we met and we returned as often as we could. When we were doing our undergrad work in the early 90's, we would take the month-long winter break there. After a month of bodysurfing and playing in the jungle, I was climbing the trees like a kid. A buddy of mine taught me to hang upside down and look at the surf. It's amazing how much more you see when you're upside down.
