G.B. Horner was born in Warrenton, Va. July 1,1833. Graduate of V.M.I.,1854. Engineer with Orange and Alexandria Railroad before the war. Appointed 1st Lieutenant in Company D, May1, 1861. Commanding Company D, September 11, 1861. Promoted to Captian of Company C, August 14, 1862. Wounded in the neck at Battle of 2nd Manassas.
He surrendered and was parolled at Appomattox Court House.
