Private Eli (Elias) Polk
Elias Polk was born in Hardin County, TN. March 19, 1843. The son of John and Keziah Talley Polk. He enlisted in Company B on December 14, 1863 at Richmond. He was present for duty from December 1863 to April 1865. Polk surrendered and was paroled at Appomattox Court House, April 9, 1865. Returning to Hardin County after the war, Polk and his family moved to Howell County, Missouri.in 1873. Polk's wife Sarah Tidwell is beleived to have died durning the trip. Elias Polk died at age 93 - April 4, 1936. He is buried next to his third wife Sharah Bonton in the Rowe Cemetery, Howell Co. Missouri.
