Croatia is a beautiful small country that has a great future.
Probably nowhere in Europe is so much beauty,
interest and
variety concentrated within so small an area
as in Dalmatia,
the most beautiful part of the Republic of
Croatia.
Dalmatia has been famed for its natural beauty
and monuments
since ancient times. The history of Dalmatia
goes back until
it becomes enfolded in the mists of legend.
A great many people have left traces of their
passage here -
Phoenicians, Illyrians, Greeks, Romans and
finaly
Croats
who settled these shores in the seventh century A.D.
and ever since, this country has borne the
indelible seal
of their vitality and of their indomitable
spirit.
Zadar
Supetar
I'm born in the town of Zadar. Zadar is a town
which deserves special attention
because of its long history, outstanding monuments
and for numerous sights
which are well worth seeing, and also for
its excellent geographical position
which particulary applies to the unique archipelago
which lies scattered before the town.
The cultural and scientific activities of
Zadar (Faculty of Philosophy, Historical archives,
Archeological Museum. etc.) are going well
with the developments in the economy
(tourism, shipping, textile, wine production.
etc.).
I live in the small town of Supetar on the
island of Brac.
Supetar is one of the most important tourist
resort on the Adriatic see.
It is the centre of the island of Brač
that has all that an important tourist resort should have:
fertile surrounding countryside, with vineyards,
olive groves and orchards,
pine woods all along the coast, many lovely
bays,
comfortable hotels and rich private and small
tourist accommodations
(pension, appartements and rooms).
