About Us

This is a database for fishing in Malaysia. When it was first created, I intended it to be a resource centre for sea fishing. Seeing that freshwater fishing has also become as popular as sea fishing, I have decided to include all there is on fishing in Malaysia.

To the angling fraternity, this is as much your page as it is mine and I hope you will help me make it a useful one for us.

The FihsingKaki's Homepage ('fishing kaki' means hardcore angler in Malaysian) is a non-profit venture with an objective to promote fishing among Malaysians and perhaps introduce this sport to those who have not known Malaysia as a fishing paradise. If I can be ambitious a little bit, I hope this will one day evolve into a conservational tool as well for the sport.

I shall try to update this page regularly and welcome comments and ideas on its improvement. Give me a line of what you want to see in this page and I shall see if I can improve it for you.

What listed here are based on my personal experience and from ideas contributed by my fellow fishing kakis, gathered over the years. Some of these fishing tips have worked for me splendidly and I hope they will for you too. But if you have a better idea, please feel free to email me. I shall try to accommodate them in the next update.

For the promotion of the sport, I have added new sections of commercial fishing ponds in the Klang Valley and later, include on the services related to fishing. I hope you will find these useful and that they will help promote the fishing sport and spots in Malaysia.

Thanks to all the fishing kakis who have generously provided me with the information without which this page is possible.

Happy fishing and tightlines!

Sincerely yours,

T'ang Rongshui
