Common Name: Silver Whiting. (Sillago
sihama). Sua Chiam (sand borer) in Hokkien and Bulus in Malay.
Description: Silverbody, almost cylindrical and tapers to a snoutlike mouth.Grows to maximum of 25cm.This gregarious species prefer clean waters, especially near shorelines with sandy bottoms. Sensitive fish, easily spooked. Feeds on small crustaceans, fish and sea worms.
Tips: Free lining is best, using small leadshots where current is slightly fast. You can use multiple or single small hooks, ie. No 13.on 10lb line.
