RICK SHANAHAN dived the "Bubble Hat" during the fireworks on Wednesday evening
in the fantaSea Scuba demonstration tank at the Middlesex County Fair.
THE NORTHEAST WORKING EQUIPMENT GROUP was invited by fantaSea Scuba of Milltown, N.J., to demonstrate our surface-supplied gear for the week of August 3-9, 1998, at the Middlesex County Fair in East Brunswick, New Jersey, as we had done in 1997. We managed to have divers on hand for every day of the fair. We also use the fantaSea tank for the indoor Beneath The Sea scuba show in the Secaucus Meadowlands Convention Center in March each year.
JIM BOYD also dived the Bubble Hat, which was a real hit with the kids, who thought the underwater divers were aliens
(so on display, we stuffed the hat with a real blow-up alien).
During the week we also dived Jim Folk's SuperLite 17 and Amron suit.
Fred Barthes (below left) did an impromptu Canada Dry commercial atop the tank,
and fantaSea's Gary Slade (below right) also dived the rig.
George from fantaSea (bottom) dived a classic double-hose scuba rig.
