The Full Monty | Awesome film! Extremly funny. Since I am not british, I found it difficult to understand what was said some of the time. | Quite funny, not a chick-movie like I expected. If you're not English and don't get some of the jokes, don't worry. Unless they're from Yorkshire a lot of English don't get them either. |
Chasing Amy | Different movie..touches on some interesting subjects. Maintains it's humourus nature throughout. Very entertaining. | Excellent continuation in the Clerks, Mallrats twenty-something saga. More mature plot but still contains the intelligent dialogue you'd expect, and some cracking good humour. Snootchie-Bootchie! |
Tomorrow Never Dies | Entertaining, but very predictable. Typical 007 film. | for the first half of the movie including the excellent failed torture/parking garage escape sequence, then a for the second half, which bordered on ridiculous. Bond never needed a PC sidekick before, I thought we'd outgrown that trend. |
Starship Troopers | No plot and absolutely disgusting. I don't fancy seeing trampled on, headless, armless, legless, corpses, lying in pools of blood. | No plot to get in the way of this in-your-face blood-and-guts sci-fi (low on the sci) action movie. Great genre film with incredible special effects. You just have to overlook the fact that these people are some of the dumbest military tacticians ever. |
A Life Less Ordinary | Funny, entertaining. An all round great film. | Good date movie, Ewan for the girls, Cameron for the guys. The angels are great, something for everyone. |
Titanic | Wasn't a bad film, but definately didn't live up to my expectations. It appears to be yet another film where they spent tons of money on special effects and little effort in the script department. | The actors almost looked embarassed saying their lines. Good action and special effects didn't quite carry the bad script and formulaic story. |

Spirit Of The Dance | All Those feet moving at the same time made it quite entertaining. Unfortunately it was poor as far as story line. | I'm not quite clear on the storyline for this one, but it was pure entertainment. Good incorporation of a wide range of ethnic dance styles, as well as some great clackety-celtic. |
Starlight Express | Actresses and actors singing, dancing, and whirling around in elaborate costumes on traditional rollerskates. Must have been hard for the casting directors. Excellent singing, very entertaining, simple story line. | Andrew Lloyd Weber knows how to make a tune stick in your head, and the amount of effort put into this show has to be admired. A true spectacular, more like a circus than a musical. |
Blood Brothers | Absolutely amazing. Very realistic story line. Fabulous acting and singing by all. Hillariously funny, with a overshadowing darkness. Ladies bring your tissues. There weren't many dry eyes left in the theatre by the end. | A moving story highlighting the disparity of Britain's classes. At times brutal, and others roll-in-the-aisle funny. A must see if you're in London. |
