Edmonds Underwater Park

Level: all

How to get there: Take the I-5 to Exit 177. Turn right on Highway 104. Follow signs down into Edmonds. Turn right on Sunset Avenue, then left on Main Street, and right again into Brackett's Landing. Parking is also available across the street if this lot is full.

Facilities: Washrooms and changerooms. Cold water gear rinse. Telephone across tracks from anchor. Several restaurants and a dive shop nearby.

Hazards: Current. Ferry - make sure you stay away from it. Long swim or long walk if tide is out.

How to dive this site: Edmonds has been set up at a diver's playground. A network of ropes make navigation very easy. You can pick up a map at the local dive store or look at the map on the side of the changerooms to see what's there. There is a sunken drydock, several old boats, a *slinky*, pipes, the Seven Dwarfs - lots to see. Simply set your compass so you know which way is back to shore and follow the rope of your choice.

What to see: Edmonds has a ton of man-made attractions. There are HUGE (and I mean HUGE) lingcod, cabezon, rockfish, greenlings. There are seastars, moon snails, nudibranchs, white plumose anemones everywhere. Schools of seaperch. Tunicates. An octopus in a pipe - a very messy housekeeper! All kinds of crabs.

My tally: 10 dives
