Koontz mania!!

Koontz, my favorite author....

My favorite quote came from Watchers, here goes: "Although the constant shadow of certain death looms over everyday, the pleasures and joys of life can be so fine and deeply affecting that the heart is nearly stilled by astonishment."
Though now i have another one... from Sieze the Night: "Human beings can always be relied upon to assert, with vigor, their God given right to be stupid."

I was first affected by Koontz when I was in Middle school, maybe even younger but I cannot remember exactly. What I do remember is what book I first read that got this whole thing started, Lightning. I thoroughly loved the book then, and I still love it now. I've read it so many times that I cannot count... for whenever I need a good book to read I always know exactly which one to grab if I cannot find another. I have suggested this book to so many of my friends that I bet most of them could tell you who he is and at least one book he wrote. Now I have almost everything he's written. I do not have his many early works, but I do have everything that is out right now, at least available. I have even written a persuasive speech as to why people should read a Koontz book. I really enjoy his stories that pull you in from the very first page. My favorite short story is "Kittens" and my favorite books are: Lightning (duh!), The Bad Place, Whispers, Strangers, and Dragon Tears. I love many more but these are my favorite. If you are an avid Koontz fan you would know that he hasn't always used his name when authoring books... if you didn't know this here are the names that he has previously published under: Brian Coffey, K. R. Dwyer, Deanna Dwyer, David Axton, Liegh Nichols (I have one under this name!!), John Hill, Anthony North, Richard Paige, Owen West, and Aaron Wolfe. You might be wondering why in hell someone would use so many different names?? Well years ago when Dean was getting started there were different ways of writing standards. Publishers would only publish one genre of writing per person, unless of course you had a different name to make people think it was a different person. So Dean took up many types of writing; romance, sci-fi, horror, and eventually settled into his own type: the mixed genre. That is the best part of Dean's writing, the way he can mix romance, science fiction, horror, all into one great story time after time, and they never get boring or repetitive. Usually I am waiting for lengthy amounts of time for Dean to put out new books, because I have already read everything available. As of right now (as far as I know) these are the novels he has out right now...
