Summit Country Workshop through Focus Adventures with Karen Shulman

My trip started friday with the long drive out from Illinois. Saturday I went climbing with Skup, Mike, and Jen at Clear Creek Canyon. Sunday started out with a mucho fun trip of off-roading (see Annie in action!). Then off to the Summit Photography workshop sunday evening.

We started with an introduction- 5 participants (Carlene, Lynn, Barb, Kay, and Myself) our assistant instructor Joni and of course Karen our brave leader. Our first day we went to Mt. Evans and learned our first lesson, if you're not ready with your camera and tripod you're not going to get the sunrise... but i think we came pretty close ;) That night we tried to go to Melvin's ranch but got rained out. We liked it so much we decided to go back later. Tuesday evening we went up to Shrine pass, got rained out again, but we made the best of it-- a few folks got some flower shots, but we mostly did fun night shots with long exposures.. Kay got a cool lighting shot. Wednesday we went to Melvins for a second time, and got some excellent light in the morning. Then we headed up to Boreas Pass in the evening... alas no great sunset but again we made the best of it in the Westie with wine and cheese :) Thursday we had a wonderful day of soaking at Hot Sulpher Springs (my first massage too!) and actually got some great shots of flowers- great specimens! Friday ended with our last review and excellent slideshows. Click here to see us girls in action. We had an excellent time and took many many photos, here's just a highlight of my favorites below... enjoy!
