This book contains detailed maps which are useful as the current editions of the OS maps do not define the route. An alternative 45 mile route along definite rights of way suitable for 2 or 3 day crossings and several alternative walks, including the Shepherds Round, which are more suitable for large parties, are also detailed in the book.
An excellent book giving details of the 100 mile walk from Helmsley to Filey (with no time limit). The book contains sketch maps as well as a written guide. It also includes much interesting background information about the local area and its history, its place names and its folk-lore.
Another circular walk; this time of 32 miles and taking in the area around Black Hambleton. Starting in Osmotherley it goes via Arden, Scawton, Boltby and Silton before returning to Osmotherley. The leaflet contains detailed instruction and sketch maps and like the previous pamphlet P.A. Sherwood has recently finished updating this one. Again a badge is available from the Lyke Wake Club.

Membership of the club is open to anyone who has successfully completed the Lyke Wake Walk (in either direction within the 24 hour time limit) or those hardy people who have supported a successful crossing of the Lyke Wake Walk.
Send a report of your crossing to the Lyke Wake Club with 50p per head for Condolence cards (completion certificates) and a s.a.e. One envelope per party please. Reports may be pungent or poetic; we welcome quotable ones. The same applies to the other walks. The 50p for each card represents the cost, not only of the cost of the card, but the clerical expense of handling reports and keeping statistics. So please send your 50p for each crossing reported, and report all crossings to keep our statistics accurate. Thank you.
