FROM THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE AROUND ANGEL ISLAND 

This race is our pride and joy. It is our chance to extend our hospitality and provide a challenge to paddlers of all levels. The race starts at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge, rounds Angel Island State Park and finishes in Horseshoe Cove. This exciting race features the challenging San Francisco Bay currents and weather, with a picturesque view of San Francisco in the background. The 4.5 mile Novice race starts in Horseshoe Cove, follows the water’s edge to Sausalito and returns to Horseshoe Cove.

A delicious lunch will be available for $6.00, includes choice of chicken or ribs and a couple of salads with dessert.

Raffle Tickets will be available throughout the day for fun prizes. The raffle prizes will be announced after the last canoe is in.

RACE DAY SCHEDULE: 

 7:00 a.m. Registration Starts

 8:00 a.m. Steersmen’s meeting

 8:15 a.m. Pule

 8:30 a.m.  Novice Race Begins

 9:30 a.m. Women/Co-ed and Men’s Race ( or 15 min. after last canoe in)

11:00 a.m.  Men’s Race Start ( or 15 min. after last canoe in)

11:00 a.m.   A Plate lunch is available   

1:00 p.m.  Awards Ceremony and Raffle Prize Drawing ( or 15 min. after last canoe in)

After Race Party

Directions:
Located at East Fort Baker
Presidio Yacht Club

San Francisco/South Bay:  North on 101, across the Golden Gate Bridge, exit Alexander/Sausalito. Proceed down hill and turn left at the first opportunity. This road is Bunker (toward Marin headlands). Turn right before the tunnel and follow the road to the bottom of the hill.  At the stop sign, turn right.  At the second stop sign stay to the right and turn left after the Eucalyptus Trees. (Coast Guard Station).  Follow road to the yacht club.

From the North/Marin: South on 101, take Sausalito exit, last exit before crossing the Golden Gate Bridge. Turn right and follow road under freeway.  Turn left at the first opportunity.  This road is Bunker (toward Marin headlands).  Turn right before the tunnel and follow the road to the bottom on the hill.  At the stop sign, turn right. At the second stop sign stay to the right and turn left after the Eucalyptus Trees. (Coast Guard Station).  Follow road to the yacht club.
