Cub Scout Day Camp: The camp was
held from July 6-10 at the Howard County Fairgrounds. Ron McNeil and Cathy Atwell
were members of the camp staff from Pack 606, and we had several other adults from the
Pack serving as volunteers at camp. This year's theme was Space Exploration.
At camp, the Scouts were grouped into Dens. Highlights of the week included nature activities, archery, crafts, space games, songs, and rocket launches. The days were hot and sunny, so there was also a 'kid wash' for cooling off. Scouts received beads for participating in the events and at the end of the week, everyone found that they had earned a number of achievements towards rank.
Three cheers for camp organizers, Cheryl and Wayne Murphy, and all the other volunteers that made this fun and educational week possible for our Scouts!
