If you are a boy who has completed the first grade or you are 8 years old, you can be a Wolf Cub Scout. The Wolf program is designed for second grade boys. As a Wolf, you are a member of a Den. There are other boys who are also Wolf Cub Scouts in your den and there is a Den Leader. Your whole den, plus some other dens containing Tigers, Bears, and Webelos Scouts, make up the Pack. Your pack is led by a Cubmaster and a committee of other adults that keep the pack going. Together with a lot of other packs, you are a member of the Boy Scouts of America.
When you start out in the Wolf program, you are not a Wolf yet, but you will begin working to earn your Wolf badge. You will start by following the Bobcat Trail, a series of 8 "tracks", that will help you learn the Cub Scout Promise, the Law of the Pack, the meaning of Webelos, the Cub Scout Sign, the Cub Scout Handshake, the Cub Scout Motto, the Cub Scout Salute, and some very important information that will help you stay safe. At the completion of the Bobcat Trail, you will earn your Bobcat Badge, and you will feel very proud. Then you will move on to the Wolf Trail.
The Wolf Trail is made up of 49 "tracks" of achievement in 12 main areas. You'll have a lot of fun as you earn your achievements through your own hard work and with the help of your parents, your den leader, and other scouts. This will be a great adventure for you. When you finish all 12 achievements, you will be ready to wear your Wolf Badge.
