2000
FEBRUARY
- 23rd-We have a speaking engagement at UMass-Lowell, for a group call LIRA. The topic will be "The Merrimack Valley in the French and Indain War years"
MARCH
- 5th-Boston Massacre - Boston MA-This year it's on a Sunday, so we have all day to do what we do best, that is, be a hostile mob of rabble. There will be the venues, the traditional one at night by the Old State House, and during the day at the Paul Revere Mall in the North End where we will reenact a similar event that happened days earlier. The daytime event has never been reenacted before, so it should be interesting.
APRIL
- 8th-Bedford Liberty Pole Parade and Ceremony - A short parade from Bedford High School to Liberty Pole Park, where there will be speeches and a traditional liberty pole capping. Always followed by a hotdog and bean dinner and plenty of 18th century shopping.
- 15th-Battle Road - Although we aren't attending this one as a unit, there are several of our members going with other units. It is going to be the largest RevWar event on the site to date. Even if you don't take part in or watch the reenactment, there is expected to be some top notch shopping at the sutlers.
- 29-30th-Fort #4's 2nd Annual Living History Workshop - What semed like a good idea last year has turned into a tradition! A two day series of workshops about and for living history people. There is scheduled to be talks on: archaeology, 18th century medicine, what to pack for a scouting expedition, the properties and history of gunpowder, musket and cannon safety and more!

Expected are: a gunsmith (Jeff), basketmaker (Kathy), market gunner (Al), pewtersmith, a doctor (Pete), a candlemaker (Michelle) and colonial children's games (Sue).

- 12-13th-Crown Point Historic Site's French and Indian War Weekend
- 26-27th-Battle of Bennington VT - A RevWar event, one of my favorites, it exemplifies more than any other battle in history the Yankee determination to self rule. So many of the participants in the 1777 battle only took part in this one event, then went home. This was not a large organized colonial army against the Redcoats, this was angry farmers and craftsman who came together under General Stark to train, equip themselves, and crush a force of British regulars and German mercinaries. The reenactment is hosted each year by the Living History Association.

OCTOBER
- 7-8th-Clan Wars 2000 - From the people who brought us Culloden 98,99, and 2000. This Scottish Highlander event will be held at Fort Engagement in Milford NY. I will post more details as soon as I read the information packet.
- 7-9th-Fort #4's Spinning Workshop
- 14-15th-Roger's Rangers Return to Fort #4 - They have just raided Odenak and killed all of the inhabitants, now they have had to flee with an army of angry Abeaki Warriors on their heels, no food, come and see them straggle into the fort and safety.
- 29th-Fort #4 Closes for the season
