MAST Moonlight Triangle – Race Instructions

 

 

Ø       ELIGIBILITY, SCORING, RULES, etc.This is a regular Friday night race.All registered MAST racers are eligible to race.Scoring, rules, etc., will be in accordance with the procedure outlined in the MAST Racing Manual, for the Friday Night Series.

Ø       STARTThere will be separate starts for each division, in accordance with the procedure outlined in the MAST Racing Manual.The first warning will be sounded at 6:15 P.M..

Ø       COURSE, MARKSThe racing area and course will be, as shown, in the illustration above.The starting line will be approximately ½ Stat. Mi. NE of the south breakwall gap of Milwaukee Harbor.The course will be to the Green “1” Buoy (The Bell Buoy) E of South Shore Yacht Club, then North to the Milwaukee Yacht Club Center-Mark (our regular windward mark), and finally back to the start /finish mark.The start /finish mark will be the Yellow MAST Tetrahedron, that we normally use.All marks shall be passed to port.

Ø       TIME LIMITThe time limit will be extended to 10:00 P.M

Ø      INCLEMENT WEATHERIf weather conditions are not suitable to conduct a fair or safe race within the allotted time, the committee boat will display the shorten course flag and set-up an alternative windward /leeward course using the MYC Ctr. Mark or marks inside the breakwall, in accordance with the MAST Racing Manual.

Ø       SAFETYWatch out for commercial vessels transiting the shipping channel, they have the right-of-way!!
