A brief reflection

As I started to make this page, I began to ask myself why. After all, there is no monetary gain or an increase in stature. Without getting too philosophical, I decided to do it for two reasons. First, my intense love for the people. I strive to learn everythig I possibly can about the Lakota especially. Again here I must say that although there is a great pride in being Lakota, I must say that I am a part of every people as we are all brothers and sisters. I read everything I can, I talk to whoever I can, any source of information that I can use to learn more. Which brings me to my second reason. It is my hope that everyone that visits my lodge will leave their address in my guestbook so that we may be in touch. Whether it be for a philosophical discussion, an offer to share your own knowledge, or to want to hear mine. So here is my disclaimer. Through the millions of pages of books and the countless hours of talking to elders, there are many areas that are still somewhat contradictory. In these areas I either drew my own conclusion based on the facts presented, or simply chalked it up to social differences from one tiyospaye to another.
Thank you for taking the time to stop at my lodge, and please sign my book before you leave.
