Nobody told me
that in these mountains I still wouldn't see another group of humans for 2 Weeks,
it would rain more times than not and the thunder and lightening would light up the
sky for hours. A
walk into these mountains can reward a climber with an awesome climate and world class
fishing in far
and tucked away streams and alpine lakes. Here we just climbed up an unnamed waterfall to
an unnamed
lake just as the thunder storms were moving in for the day. Long ago and far away. This
dreamscape
was in 1977, the last visit to the Beartooths included world class fishing, kick ass '
blow your tent down
thunder storms' and a climbing adventure to Granite Peak.
Oh the waters in these mountains haunt me like no other!

Another
Storm is on the Way :) !
Making the
break for the top only to be into the heart of another killer storm
with in a colour on the Red Rocks Lake side of the Beartooth plateau.
This is one of the top 5
pic's I've taken. That first trip in Beartooths it
rained on 3 or 4 times a day. We were so used to it we'd set up a little
shetler when we saw the next storm coming. We were climbing out of the East
Rosebud Canyon and were getting close to topping out on the Beartooth Plateau
when the next storm hit. We built a nice shelter between a couple of
Rocks and sat it out. From the shelter, we could see a steep boulder field
in front of us that lead to the plateau. I said boy we needed cheerleaders
on top to get us going. Jonny said yeah "Naked Cheerleaders". We did
make
it to the top although no chearleaders showed up naked or otherwise. This is
a picture of Brian going over the top..... Lilly
