Lake Travis - - Austin, Texas

This is home for many divers. Here's were I completed my PADI certification from a buddy at work. The water clarity and temperature isn't always that great, but it's home and convient. There are several good sites and one "water park" for divers to enjoy. The visibility can be any were from a few inches to 25 feet depending on the latest weather. The temperature of the water in the summer gets around the low 80's. Travis is a man-made lake controlled by the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA). The lake resides on the Colorado river and is part of a chain of lakes known as the Highland Lakes. Sites:

Starnes Island. (My personal favorite.)
Windy Point. -- Drought of 2000
Mansfeild Dam -- Very old photo, photographer unknown.
Sometimes Island. -- Drought of 2000
Water Park -- Closed and No longer exists.
