Licence Fees

What's New for 1999

5-Year Big Game Season Structure
Final Policy Statements
(Adopted by the Colorado Wildlife Commission June 10 and 11, 1999)

Limited Deer - All deer licenses will be issued by drawing this year. There will be no deer licenses sold over the counter. No either-sex deer licenses will be offered for the rifle seasons. There also will be no left-over antlered deer licenses sold for any season this year. A buck license for any combined rifle season can be used for only the first five days of the season.

Muzzleloading - Modern in-line muzzleloaders are legal method of take during the 1999 muzzleloading season. However, muzzleloader seasons and legal weapons will be reevaluated in 1999 before the Wildlife Commission sets big game seasons for the next five years.

Youth Preferences - Special licenses will be set aside for youths in the drawing this year.

Impaired Hunters - Special licenses are now available for hunters with permanent physical impairments and who have applied unsuccessfully in the drawing.

Chronic Wasting Disease - Units have changed where deer head submissions are required.

Bear Seasons - There will be unlimited bear licenses for the archery and muzzleloading seasons.

Attention Colorado Hunters - As a cost-savings measure, the DOW won't be mailing big game brochures next year to Colorado residents who apply in this year's drawing. Instead, hunters can pick one up at any DOW office or wherever hunting licenses are sold.
