A logo means an identifying mark. It could be a letter, a symbol
or a sign to represent a word or an activity. It could be a single stroke
of a pen, or a dot or a group of many undistinguished shapes put together
to create a visual statement.
Logo has become an important part of Scouting that no Scouting
activity, big or small, has been conducted without it.
A logo puts to test a Scout's creativity and his imagination
and his ability to grasp things and to use little resources he has to create
one.
The Jamboree Organizing Committee, realizing its importance,
has formed a special group to design a logo for the Centennial Scout Jamboree,
the one that would connect the 11th National Jamboree to the celebration
of the 100th year of the Philippine independence.
After a thorough deliberation, the Philippine Centennial Scout
Jamboree logo was born.
The Jamboree logo is a caricature of three jubilant children
raising their hands below the imposing Philippine flag. At their right
is the Scout badge, which explains that this activity is a BSP activity.
Since the jamboree is a celebration of the centennial, the committee
opted to place the flag above the three children, which represent the Philippines
and its three main island groups: Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
the three key colors of the flag: red, yellow and blue and the BSP
program sections: Blue for Kid and Rover; yellow for KAB and red for Senior
Scouts.
The youthful caricature represents the theme: "Scouts: Heroes
for Tomorrow," which is inscribed at the lower portion of the illustration,
it also represents the youthful heroes of the three Philippine wars.
