Adam at Work

multiple personality disorder???
Actually, no serious mental illness here - at least not that I know of. However, pursuing two careers at the same time - one more physical, one more cerebral - can make me feel a little like Cybil at times. Welcome to my work...
actor web designer

This would be my artistic side. Not that you don't use your head in theater, but it is more governed by emotion and passion. This is where my heart is right now.

Now before you ask what restaurant I work at, let me brag and say that I have been able to (more or less) make my living at acting for the last few years. Recently I have started to get into website design, as you can see on the right, but other than that, I just act. It can be hard to find work, but when you do work, it makes everything worthwhile.

The perks of the job are wonderful. You have an extended family that covers most of the country, or at least both coasts. You get to travel to some great places (if you are lucky) and of course there is the 24 hour work week when the show is up and running. Yes there are down sides, but I wouldn't dream of doing anything else with my life - at least, not right now.

If you happen to be a theater lover, feel free to check out some links I have compiled in the following categories. Let me know if you have any more that would be appropriate, or if some of these don't work anymore.

This is what I do to satisfy my head. Granted, web design also uses creativity, but there is something very satisfying in playing "brainy, computer geek" from time to time.

I started to get into website design in January of 1998 - I was bored and wanted a "project." When I found out that you could get your own website for free, it seemed like just the thing to keep me busy. Within a few days, I had my first website up. It was very basic and kinda tacky, but I was pleased.

Of course, I didn't stay pleased for long. I decided I wanted something with graphic continuity and a overall strong look. I wanted to expand the amount of information I had, to include something on all my interests. The more I got into the design, the more I liked it. It was then that I started looking around at other designers and I decided that I could do just as good as some, if not better.

And so, Design of the Times was born. I couldn't be more pleased with the work, either. It is the perfect compliment to my theatrical endeavors. One satisfies my heart, the other my head. Feel free to visit my professional site (especially if you want to hire me) and the site of my most recent client. Let me know what you think.
