Hi, I'm Andrew Hawke. Welcome to my Web Page.

This Web Page was created during an Iowa winter, while I was living in the USA in 1997-98. My life has changed since then, and I haven't managed to keep it up to date.

I am a New Zealander, and my home is in Wellington, New Zealand. However, like most New Zealanders, I know that the rest of the world is a pretty big place, and I have been doing my best to see some of it. I only spent 6 months out of the two years between May 1997 and October 1999 in New Zealand, but have been living in Wellington again since then. My last overseas trip was to Wisconsin for the 1999 summer at a scout camp - Tomahawk Scout Reservation
, and I travelled through the States and England before returning home.

I have been a Scout Leader since 1991. Until June 1997 I was a leader in New Zealand. I then went to see some more of the world for 18 months - mostly in the United States, but also visiting Canada, England and Thailand.

Through the Boy Scouts of America's International Camp Staff Program, I spent the 1997 summer (9 weeks) at Ben Delatour Scout Ranch (BDSR), Red Feather Lakes, Colorado (Longs Peak Council). As well as International Staffer, I was Commissioner and Director of Scoutcraft.

I then moved to Iowa City. While there, I assisted with Troop 211 (Hawkeye Area Council) as an Assistant Scoutmaster.

In the 1998 (Northern Hemisphere) summer I decided to see some more of the United States, and have been to camps in Colorado, Iowa, Wisconsin (Tomahawk Scout Reservation - http://www.indianhead.org/) and Virginia (http://www.bsa-brmc.org/), canoe trips in Canada (Quetico Provincial Park) and Wisconsin (Flambeau River), before finishing at the Florida National High Adventure Sea Base (http://www.bsaseabase.org/).

From there I travelled back to New Zealand via England and Thailand. Summer is now over here, so I'm off to enjoy some more sun in the north. I'm going back to Tomahawk Scout Reservation, and then will spend September seeing more of the world, before coming back for October, and the start of another New Zealand summer.

Since then, I have changed careers, and am now a teacher.

This page is (constantly!!) under construction. Please let me know if anything doesn't work.
