These are some pictures of my latest camping/backpacking/hiking trip that I took. My son and I decided we needed a break from the heat and Colorado sounded really good. So here goes.

We camped the first couple of nights in campgrounds along the Conejos River. This campground is Mix Lake Campground.
This is a picture of me on the Three Forks Trail in the San Juan Wilderness Area. We backpacked in a few miles and camped in the meadow at the Three Forks.
The next day we hiked up to Conejos Falls on the Middle Fork of the Conejos. The hike is not terribly strenuous and the scenery is unbeatable.
We had lunch at the top of the falls. What a spot!
Here is a picture of Adam just being Adam - GAP KID. Needless to say I was not the only one having a good time. Back home the temperature was about 100 but up here the temperature was in the 50's. OUTSTANDING!
This is the meadow just upstream of the falls. The wildflowers were beautiful.
This is another picture of the meadow just upstream of the falls. It shows some of the snow that was still in the crevasses on the mountain side.
There were several "waterslides" like this on up the river from the falls.
Adam just HAD to go up to get some snow. Whew! I was worn out by the time we got up there. He hasn't seen snow in many years.
This is a picture I took in New Mexico on the way back. This is a spot just south of Chama, NM.
