Subject: Lake Roosevelt Rainbows, Kokanee
Stan K and company fished Roosevelt Lake for Rainbows and Kokanee. Its still hard to call the silvers out of Roosevelt, Kokanee, because of their size.

Fishing was slow; they put in a long day for a nice Rainbow and a ~16" Kokanee.

Water temperatures were in the high 30’s which has been good in the past years for Rainbows. Better luck next time; but, the single Kokanee on their first trip of the year compared to last year’s results may be a sign of good things to come.

Roosevelt Lake Kokanee are about the best fish on the grill. The picture above is a nice Kokanee that I caught out of Roosevelt in early spring a couple of years ago. I can still remember how good it tasted.
