Hello Everybuddy, Fishing has slowed a bit. Working gear, moving around,& long hrs. will usually get a fish or two. We got skunked 2 weeks ago at double bluff. At double bluff we missed and lost a few. We saw a seal belly-up,[probably shot]. We got two salmon last Tuesday at Obstruction [san juan], where the seal has usually enforced the size limit. We did manage to get a 9.8 pounder past the seal and into the boat. In one instance, I was holding my leader with a shaker in the water when all of a sudden I saw something gray coming at me. Yes, it was a seal, and yes, it grabbed the shaker, and yes, I let go quick to grab my pole. The seal went about 30 feet stood up & ate the fish while watching us, as if to say thanks or just "I gotcha". Saturday I went to the San Juans and got a small salmon and lost another one to a seal at eagle bluff. The Rossario derby was going on Friday and Saturday. John & I are going to enter next yr.375.00 per boat to enter; 10,000.00 for first place. We need a 3rd person to share fee & prizes any volunteers. Gene |
