You'll see several pictures of this wonderful, stormy night. It passed within 2 miles of us, presenting quite a show.
We came upon this eagle while day-tripping up to Gun Lake. After several attempts, he finally showed his photogenic side.
For several days, if you got up early enough, the fog engulfed everything within view. This is one of many interesting fog shots.
Never found a nest anywhere, but on the way out at Mudro, this loon let us get sooo close. We were almost within paddle reach from the canoe, probably 6' away...when I ran out of film.
Another picture from one of the storm nights. The rocks in the forground add a lot to this photo.
The trees frame this shot so well. Just look at the definition in the clouds!
A beautiful, calm ending to a wonderful trip in the BWCA. September is such a gorgeous time of year up there.
Several of us were trying to catch that elusive, explosive shot of lightening during one storm. This one isn't too bad, but we always missed the bright, long-lasting bolts because we were talking or loading film.
The color in these clouds was just incredible. It seemed every night you had the perfect sunset, although we did get more than our share of showers this trip.
We had some wind on this trip. These waves were some smaller ones that I was able to make into a unique picture. See the rocks under the waves? The sun was in the perfect position. |
'02 was pretty successful. We were held up by the wind a few days and have decided to return to moving every few days. The base camp just becomes too dull after 2 days. We had some of the most detailed colors and cloud formations this year in the photos. It was very hard to select 2 or 3 of the best from certain groups of photos.
