This was looking out from the channel on the 120 rod portage into Little Gabbro. Looked like an old dam/road used to run across the narrows.
Another look up the channel at the 120 rod portage.
This shot of the campfire was really cool large. It lost a lot of detail in order to be small enough for the website.
There were several chipmunks around camp. Within a day, they were literally eating out of our hands. Then they went after the packs!
A couple of the guys were out late one night, just before dark. What a great silouette.
These cloud "ears" were certainly interesting on this evening. It only rained a little. Of course, we later saw snowflakes right before bed!
More of the clouds from those chilly couple of nights we so enjoyed!
Even with the couple of cool nights, there were still some GREAT moon nights.
Another good moon opportunity. We canoed into the rushes along the little islands to the west of camp for several of these shots.
This reflection is of the island to the west. The water was just like glass.
This was a gorgeous sunset after the storm clouds rolled by.
A shot of the shoreline on one of the beautiful days we had.
These mushrooms made an awesome picture. As expected, they sprung up in a downed log near the "cone".
This tree is one of the casualties of the 1999 blowdown. Makes one wonder how there weren't more people hurt during that storm. By the way, he's 6' tall with his arm extended.
Can you see the stars in this photo? It was a great night for long-exposure attempts. |
2003 was another good year. Along with ample opportunity for some great photos, we had wolves howling to each other on the last night. Friendly chipmunks and annoyed Eagles rounded out the trip!
