1995 August Trip
This was a fun trip! We didn't see much on the way in. We started canoeing the day we got to Ely this year. Our first night's camp was on a site between Lake 2 and Lake 3. That's were my moon shot was taken. We camped up in Hudson Lake. Several guys had good luck fishing in the little bays on the other side of that small lake where our campsite is marked on the map.
We made the loop on the way out. Some of the lakes/rivers in the Fire Lake area were very interesting to go through. The area was narrow with cliffs on each side, similar to the picture of our view coming in.
On our way out, we cut across the point at Lake 1. That is where the Bald Eagle came flying by us and landed in the trees. Maybe this year I'll have a stronger lense in case an Eagle does that again!
