Fishing Knots

Trilene Knot  (Strongest line to hook knot) Trilene Knot
Place the tag end through the hook eye twice.

Pinch the loop made by going through hook eye twice between thumb and first finger. Wrap tag end around standing line four times. Next run tag end back through loop made at hook eye.
Bring tag end back up through the loop running along the wrap. This will lock the knot.
Hold the hook and tag end with one hand and pull the saliva wetted knot tight by pulling on standing line.

Palomar Knot  (Second strongest line to hook knot)
Palomar knot
Double the end of line back on itself about 6 inches and
squeeze together and push loop through the hook eye.

Next with end of loop make an overhand knot around standing line. Leave end of loop large enough to pass hook or lure through it.

Pass the hook or lure through the loop, as illustrated.

Hold the hook or lure in one hand and pull on the standing line with the other hand drawing knot tight.

Blood Knot  (This knot used to join two lines of equal diameter)
Blood Knot
Cross the lines and wrap one line three times around the other. Now place the tag end through the loop formed by the two lines.
Wrap the other line around the standing part of the other line three times, and put the tag end through the loop from the opposite side.
With both ends through the loop in center extending about 4 inches. Slowly pull the saliva wetted knot tight by pulling on both standing lines.
The finished knot looks like this and tag ends can be trimmed as close as possible to knot.

Improved Blood Knot  (This knot used to join lines of unequal diameter)
Improved blood knot
Double the smaller diameter line. Wrap it five times around the larger diameter line and bring it back between the two strands.
Twist the larger diameter line around the doubled line three times, and place its tag end back through the loop in the opposite direction.
Pull the wetted knot slowly to tighten it. Use your finger-nails to push the loops of the knot together. Trim all loose ends one-fourth inch from the knot.
