Rock Creek Lake is located in the eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains, at an elevation of 9300 feet.Take highway 395 north from Bishop about 25 miles to Toms Place. Turn left accross the highway, past the ranger station and proceed on up the mountain. From the ranger station, the drive is nine and a half miles to the lake with an elevation gain of about 2000 feet. The air is clear, the sun is bright and the water is very cold. Just past Rock Creek Lake Resort you can turn left and follow the road along the eastern shoreline until you arrive at a parking area and campground. Just beyond the turnoff is a driveway that takes you to the boat ramp and group campground. If you proceed beyond the driveway, the road dead ends at the Mosquito Flat Trailhead parking lot.
