B&B's BB - the Arrival

Sun, 24 May 1998 Hello everyone. Monday 5/18 Brian brought me to hospital at 10 :30 pm with labor pains 3 minutes apart that you couldn't talk thru. At 7am Dr gives me an epidural to eliminate pain. Still very little delivery progress though. by 10 am still no more progress and baby goes into "distress " with every contraction... now less than 2 minutes apart. Baby's heart rate drops, dr and nurses become silent and watch. baby starts to recover right at next contraction. Dr decides to stop this "nonsence" and does C- section at 1:30 pm 5/19. 8 Lb , 1 oz red- headed "Elliott Hunter" arrives at 1:38. He's a perfect round-faced, 10 fingered/ 10 toe'd, happy, content smiley baby who blew bubbles in my face when Brian placed him on my chest right after arrival! And with a 14 inch head, there was no way he was going to fit through me. Got home Firday 5/22 and have spent 2 whole days now with out a crisis. Baby feeding well every 2-3 hrs and sleeping or smiling in between. He's a real joy that has brought out unbelievable emotions.
