  • Initial reactions

    • Memory loss
    • Sleeplessness
    • Very tired
    • Extreme mood changes
    • Logical thinking impaired
    • Lack of good judgement
    • Sobbing and crying
    • No appetite or increased appetite
    • Weight loss (or gain)
    • Health problems
    • Fatigue and listlessness
    • Less able to work
    • Seeing, hearing, feeling the deceased
    • Irrational resentment of your spouse
      (when the loss is a child).
  • Leveling-off period:
    • Sadness with nostalgia.
    • Recalling pleasant memories.
    • Remembering with humor.
