Policy

Channel Policy

  • Channel modes to be in +stnlk 20
  • No unauthorized bots allowed.
  • No flooding (msg-flood, nick-flood, join-flood, ctcp-flood).
  • No Denial of Service(DoS) (ICMP-flood, UDP-flood, Ping-flood, etc).
  • No sexually explicit behavior.
  • No advertising of pornography and commercial sites without permission.
  • No unsolicited dcc-send of script.ini, dmsetup.exe or other files.
  • No spoofing of user's nickname or IP.
  • Discussions should not be discrmininating against any cultural, religious, ethnic or racial group.

    Operators Management Policy

  • Operators should not abuse their power (no kick/ban for personal reasons, etc).
  • Do not pass ops around, in other words, no manual ops, since ALL operators have access to the bots.
  • Users, including ops, who failed to follow policy set herein will be kicked, banned, permanently banned or have their operator status taken away.
  • Channel Masters reserve the right to remove operator status, without notice, from any users found inappropriate to be operators of #Fireplace.
  • We do not entertain requests for operator status.
  • Similarly, we do not accept appeals for re-establishing of operator status.

    Decision-Making Guidelines

  • Decisions for new operators will be determined by a 100% approval vote casted by all Channel Masters and selected Channel Operators. (However, the latter need not be included in the process)
  • All other decisions have to be approved by a two-thirds majority vote cast by all Channel Masters.
  • New operators, as well as current operators, should display the following qualities: They have, in one way or another, contributed to the welfare of the users, administration of the channel and constructive participation of the website in accordance to the essence of the Fireplace mission.


    Rules and regulations are made because of past events which has occurred. We do not set the above rules for fun. Most of them arises from uneventful situations and we do not wish to see history recurring. We appreciate if you adhere to our policy which in turn will ensure our channel longevity and make our Fireplace a fun and cozy place for all.
