It looks like the 4th of July Weekend will have some beautiful weather with highs in the 80s and no rain in sight. With the current high gas prices, why travel far from home. Stonehouse Park is a short trip from the Chicago suburbs.

"The Old Stone House" was constructed from 1847-1863 and is made of 16 in. thick limestone blocks. The House and 1800's oak peg and beam barns are on the State and National Historic Register. Tours are given every September. Please call or write for dates.

From Chicago Area: Take Rt. 88 West to Rt. 30 West (Sugar Grove Exit). Travel 20 miles west on Rt. 30 to Rt. 23. Turn left (south) on Rt. 23 and go 7.5 miles to Suydam Rd (Look for the blue "Camping" Sign on the corner). Turn right (west) on Suydam Rd. Travel 6.5 miles and then look for us on the right side of the road after the two bends in the road. Traveling along I39 in Illinois? We have a convienient interstate sign at the Paw Paw Exit (Exit 82). Just follow the signs. We are located approximately 10 miles from I39.

Our campground is one of the most relaxing campgrounds located in Northern Illinois. Nestled in giant oak and hickory woods, the park offers camping for tent and RV, swimming, fishing, and hiking. We have a General Store, Showerhouse, Pavilion overlooking the Lake, Beach Volleyball, Planned Activities on the weekends and much more! We have Seasonal and Overnite RV Sites as well as the best tent sites in Illinois along the Big Indian Creek. Come spend a day, a weekend, or all summer long.
Swimming - Our 2 acre spring fed swimming lake insures clean swimming. Enjoy beach volleyball and sun bathing on the sand beach.
Fishing - Our Large Mouth Bass & Catfish stocked lake and Big Indian Creek provide a variety of good fishing. We are just 7 miles south of Lake Shabbona State Park which offers a 300 acre fishing and boating lake. The Big Indian Creek comes directly from Lake Shabbona.
Seasonal Private Campsites - Enjoy your country hide-away in the woods. Save fuel and actually use your Recreational Vehicle more by leasing your campsite for the year. The unit is still available for vacation trips and winter storage is no problem.
The Pavilion & Gazebo - Overlooking the lake is great for picnics and group activities and may be reserved on weekdays and some weekends. Perfect for Family Reunions & Company Picnics. The Pavilion contains a jukebox, arcade video games, and a pool table as well as around 10 large picnic tables.
