Project X is an all original rock band formed in Toronto, Ontario by guitar master Mr. Dave Niggs. The band first started in the 1980's and has evolved over the years with new material and players. By the year 1989, the band was a 4 piece unit with Dave Niggs as guitarist, Dan Williamson as vocalist, Kevin as the bassist and Dave as the drummer. Although the band had been around for years, it's this lineup that this page is dedicated to. Make sure to also check out The Weston Willbury's page!
During the year or two with this lineup, Project X played gigs all over the Toronto area. The Opera House, Hard Rock Cafe, Nags Head West, Stratengers, Doubles and many other clubs experienced the raw, powerful, occasionally drunken sounds of 4 friends having a lot of fun. Although they were a semi-serious, well rehearsed band, they never forgot what it was all about. Fun. Almost all the shows were videotaped, some with 2 different camera angles. The band also played on Canada Day for an outdoor festival called York Fest. It was a beautiful sunny day, many friends came out in support and a great time was had by all. Drummer Dave at this time was preparing a move to British Columbia from Ontario. He left and flew to BC for a month to check things out. When he returned to shut down his Toronto life, the band got together one more time. This time as a 3 piece. The lead vocals were handled by Dave Niggs with Drummer Dave's vocal debut on two songs. The show was the best that they ever played. It was at The Edgewater Hotel. Although the show was videotaped by Jeff (Auquaman) there was a problem with the cam and the show didn't turn out! Some still shots were taken though.
