Sir: Followed an award page link for the Topper site here to apply for the award, but these old eyes can't find the link. Kalani O'Sullivan, Capt, USAF (Ret) --- The pertinent info is as follows:
Hawaiian-style site for Hawaiians adrift in Korea. Gateways to Hawaii and
Korea with special emphasis on Kunsan City and the history of Kunsan Air
Base (1938-Present).
Though site has received awards as gateways to Korea and Hawaii, its
greatest impact has been in unearthing the "forgotten" history of Kunsan Air
Base. It is recognized as a historical resource by HQ PACAF, 7AF, 51FW, and
8FW military historian offices. Received honorary membership in two
military associations for web work on the history of the units at Kunsan AB.
NOTE: The site chronicles the units stationed at Kunsan over the past 50
years starting from the Occupation forces (63rd Infantry Regiment, 3d
Battalion) through the Korean War (3rd Bomb Wing, VMF(N)-513 "Flying
Nightmares", and 474th Fighter Bomber Group) through the "caretaker years"
with a multitude of units to the 8th Fighter Wing until the present. It also
covers the histories of small units like the Army 808th/809th/841st
Engineering Aviation Battalions (SCARWAF) and the 12th Trans Port Co.
What makes this site unique is that the stories are told by the people who
served there. It is to honor their efforts in a "forgotten" war, in a
"forgotten" place, in a "forgotten" time. As such, it has had great impact
in affecting the Cultural Assessment of Kunsan AB in 1999 submitted to the
Korean government and the correction of erroneous DoD real property records
dating back to the 1955-1957 era.

Excellent site. All of my uncles, and some of my cousins served in the military. My uncle Otto Peterson lost his life in WWII. My uncle Dale Peterson operated one of the Dozers for the airstrip in Pearl Harbor. Otto returned home after my grandmother
eceived the flag from the officers on her doorstep. Can you tell me how I can find out how to locate military friends of either of these men? I don't know military lingo myself, and I don't know what battalion/rank/ or platoon/ or whatever that they ser
ed, but I do know that they were both Army men. Dale Peterson came home after his term and worked in Northern Minnesota dozing many of the roads that are current today. Then moved to Zap, North Dakota and worked in the Coal Mines until he had a heart at
ack in approx. 1973. My Uncle John (Jack) Peterson also served in WWII but I am not sure where or what position. I can guess a cook. He died in 1985 of a heart attack.
The family farm that they left from is located in Boy River, MN, USA. Any help that you can provide in locating friends and former veterans of theirs would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You!
Steven Peterson.

Regardless of whether or not the missing in action are
still alive, our prayers should be with them.
Thank you for reminding us that we owe a debt to those
who fought for our country. I was a child and had an
MIA bracelet, too. I wish I still had it; do you know
if you can get them anywhere?
I do think Vietnam was a horrible, ill-concieved and
poorly led war. I have friends who were there who say
the same; the people who went should not be forgotten
nor should the lies and deceit of our government then
and now be forgotten.
Dead or alive; bring the men home!

I resigned my commission in 1967. After the war heated up, I wore a bracelet in honor of Sgt. TIMOTHY BODDEN who went missing 6/3/67, just a few days after I left the Army. I quit wearing the bracelet several years later when the coating wore off and my
skin developed an allergy to the metal. (I am still unable to wear metal.) I came across the bracelet recently and wonder if Sgt. BODDEN was ever found or returned.

Wow you have a great page!! I was just surfing in to check out your page and invite you to my pages too.
I just started a Vets Memorial page where you can post the name of a veteran
who was killed in combat, POW/MIA, or died of old age in bed. We
owe them all so very much.

Hi Topper,
It took me a few trips, but I finally was able to see you entire site.
Your site is truely amazing,
and all the love and caring you put into its creation shows.
Your backgrounds and graphics really are an "attention grabber", but the content is what counts.
Perhaps someday, if we all work together as one, we can make a differnce to bring all o
r troops home...until then,
we can but keep them in our hearts, our prayers, and make pages such as this to get the word out,
and get more people invloved. God Bless to you and yours.

History always remembers the Politicans never the "MEN" but without the "MEN" you never have an Army.
Lord I hope the next time some Politican wants some action some Private hands him a weapon, and some
Training Officer puts him through a Basic Infantry Course. Then let us see how good the Politican is in Battle alone.
No more please - they did their duty remember them.

Great page.
We cannot forget the buddies who did not make it home.
The governments failure to pursue those missing in action is an abomination, and now we are friends
and soon to be economic partners with the vietnamese...

Steve, I've been to alot of sites since I started on the Internet and I must say that you made me proud to have served and to be an american. Your site is one of the best on that I've seen. Let's pray that 1998 will be the year that we bring home all of
our brothers and sisters to the land that they belong to. Hope that you get a chance to take a look at both of my sites, I just started the second one not too long ago. Keep up the great work my brother and comrade in arms.

Catching Live Bait Fast and Easy
I enjoyed reading your page and thought you might want to check
out our page, which features a new and very effective way to catch live bait fast and easy. This new
product called the Clear Catch Bait/Landing Combo Net, has been reviewed and f
eld tested
by some
to the top respected experts in the fishing industry, with many feature articles. I think our link would
compliment your site and benefit your readers and web site visitors. This new product offers an easy
way to catch your own live ba
t and have a more productive fishing trip. This net is also strong enough
to use as a landing net and has been tested to hold a fish up to 15 pounds.
I would appreciate it very much if you would consider linking our web site http://www.clearcatc
.com
to yours and we would be glad to do the same for you. If a reciprocal link is not possible,we sure would
appreciate it if you would help spread the word to fellow anglers that an easier way to
catch live bait is finally here. I look for
ard to your response.
Thank You
Jerry Jones
