Spanish Mackerel

This Spanish Mackerel weighed in at 16.0 kilos, and was caught off Urangan Pier, Hervey Bay, Queensland, Australia. Tackle used: 10.0 kilo maxima fishing line, a shimano 6500 baitrunner, GB1800 uglystick, 4/0 tarpon hook, no sinker. Being only 5'9' myself, you can see just how big this mackerel really is! These fish are unsafe to eat if they weigh over 10.0 kilos because of ciguatera poisoning. So, it went for crabpot bait!
