Trial by Water

Ever since I first saw the ocean (The Atlantic) when I was about 12, I've loved it. I've always been something of a water baby. I couldn't stay away from it, except for that period in my life, when I was 7, when my mom had to practically force me to take a shower. And, of course, I tried fooling her by stepping under the water for 3 minutes and then getting out. It never worked though. I think it was the dirt streaks that were all over my body that clued my mom to the fact that I hadn't quite taken a shower. Of course, it could have also been the fact that the towel was almost black when I finished drying myself off too...=] I've since gotten over my aversion to taking showers - I don't think that my friends or my roommate would quite go for me trying to go unwashed for really long periods of time. They might lock me out of the building or something.

Anyways, I love the ocean. I love any body of water, for the most part. (I do have an aversion to the smell of stagnant bodies of water, but they sure are fun to play/splash in.) My family goes on yearly fishing trips, and the best part for me is the laying back in the boat with my hat over my face and my pole with your standard worm and hook resting on my stomach as I relax and let the boat rock me to sleep - until some stupid fish decides s/he wants to commit suicide on my line, and then I'm forced to reel her/him in, only to find out it's just a baby perch or bluegill or rock bass, so I have to let it go.

So here are some pictures for you to enjoy that I've picked up somewhere on the net. I hope you enjoy them.

These two pictures are from a whale-watching trip I went on up in Cape Cod, MA - I was about 14 at about this time.=)
