HARDWOOD FLOOR, 1993.

We had this really expensive chocolate brown shag rug in the living room.  From the day we moved into the house in 1976, it never showed signs of wear and we couldn't find a justification for removing it, other than to install hardwood flooring to clean the air in the house. We chose Khears tongue and groove, edge glued laminate wood flooring.  While it is fairly easy to install, there being little to no waste, it does help if you have some carpentry skills. People with two left thumbs should forget trying to install laminate flooring.

The step nosing was expensive at $25.00 per foot so I made my own. The surface is coated with Sikkens Cetol, satin finish.  This is a water base product that is so incredibly hard and durable that it still shows no scuff marks after 14 years.
