That's how it all started. When the group became important the " Old Trails Club " was created on June 22nd 1971.

Since, at least one outing walk is organized every sunday, even during the civil war which lasted from 1975 to 1990 ! I joined the Club in winter 1983.

During the dirty war, we also suffered the loss of many friends, to name only Alexander Dib kidnapped for no reason in August 1985, never to return back home.

But we also had much happier days discovering the beauty of the Lebanon, so much praised since biblical time. That's why the main objects of the Club are to safeguard natural and historical sites, to promote the creation of national parks, to build mountain refuges and to maintain old trails and tracks in the Lebanon.
