Have you ever wondered what goes on in the tunnels below the Munitions Storage Area?

Well my friend let me help you learn more about the way the Air Force helps control the happenings that go on below all Munitions Storage Areas.

Long before the first Igloo goes up for a new Munitions Storage Area the ground is tested. How high is the water table? Is there a fault line some where close by? How thick are the rock layers?

Can the munitionites survive? Where will the munitionites get their food? What do you mean wait a minute? What is wrong now? You don't know they test for water tables before they build? Oh that's not it. Your worried about the fault line checks? No that not it either.

Well what's the problem? As I was saying they check the lay of the land before they start to build the first Igloo. Once they have the land surveyed and things designed as to where everything will go they look at the best place to let the munitionites build their homes.

What? There you go again with that puzzled look. What is your question? Oh! You have never heard of a munitionite. How long have you been working AMMO? Munitionites are very beautiful, wonderful, thoughtful, and generous folks. Munitionites on the average are 18 to 24 inches tall. Some AMMO folks claim to have seen some Munitionites as tall as 36 inches. Most Munitionites are slender folks weighing in at about 30 to 40 pounds. Each Munitionite can lift 5000 pounds at a time. When they work together they have been known to move upwards of 40 to 50 thousand pounds. Munitionites are mostly rootatarians. They live in tunnels under Munitions Storage Areas. Its hard to tell you anymore about them because each person sees them differently.

Ok now you know about the Munitionites. Now let me tell you about the tunnels. Workers move into the area and build tunnels in the area where the structures are going. If you look at the plans these tunnels are for the fire fighting water that is needed to control any fires that start in the Munitions Storage Area. Within these massive tunnels utility lines are ran to help power the facilities that will be built to support the required mission.

You know of course that within the structures are explosion proof fixtures. Well its no different within the tunnel. Most tunnels are 60 feet below the surface. The average tunnel is 25 feet tall and 20 feet wide.

What you don't believe me? Ask yourself, How many Munitions Storage Areas have you been in that have overhead utility lines? Ok that's what I thought.

Now you are starting to wonder why these tunnels are there. Well let me tell you a little more, You know I should not be telling you this. It could get us both in a lot of trouble. You know it has been rather hot for the past few days. Do you think it will rain any time soon? I don't remember the last time it rained here. I like the way it smells after a good rainstorm. Everything is fresh and clean. Does it make you feel good? It is amazing how a little rain can make you happy but a lot of rain makes for a bad day. The patotos that they serve here are really good when they cook them all the way. The Email tent gets real busy after dinner. People coming and people going. It is very nice that they have setup a service like this for us. To bad some folks have been miss using it. It helps us all to stay in touch with those back home. You can meet and talk with friendly folks who are waiting to use the Email. I have noticed that some people get upset when they have to wait more than 15 munites. However once they get on the computer it is hard to get them off.

Oh whats that? Tunnels? What tunnels? Yes they have subway tunnels in New York. Whats that? Yes I have been threw Ike's tunnel in Colorado. Tunnels are neat. I like the ones that are underwater. I hear tale that there is a tunnel that runs from Britain all the way to France. The other tunnel? Oh well I am sure they have some in Paris. I have been in the one in Oslo Norway, and Tokyo Japan. Whats that again? Tunnels under the what? Oh the Munitions Storage Area tunnels. Yes I have heard about them. What do you know about them? Oh I was telling you about them that's right.

Well the Munitionites, you remember who they are, work hard in the tunnels. They keep them in operational status all the time. What you don't understand operational status? That is where you keep something in a working condition so that when it comes time to be used it can be used.

Oh you want to know what the tunnels are used for. Well let me tell you a few things that I have heard along with something's I know. The munitionites have a vast system for tracking all munition items in the world. They know the status of every bomb,bullet, and missile. There is not a system they do not know about. From the time they are 6 years old their fathers have taught them and mother all there is to know about the munitions. Many generations of munitionites work together to keep all munitions in a safe and reliable condition. In some Munitions Storage Areas there are ten-generation working together. As you know already most Munitionites live to be one thousand years old and they never look a year over 21. Now as you know munition items are checked and rechecked for the life of the item. Well these munitionites take a great pride in the workmanship that they perform. Munitionites move from structure to structure looking over the stockpile. In a few minutes they can have the whole structure checked and cleaned. No they do not work on the munition items in the structures they lower the items into the tunnels where they perform their work with pride. Munitionites are the folks who coined the phrase a clean bomb is a happy bomb.

If you ever get the chance to spend some time with the Munitionites do it. They are the greatest friends you will ever have. Be very careful though because their charm will trap you.
