The Map of The Kingdom of
Mammon
Hi! This is a map I drew of The Kingdom of
Mammon, by hand. It isn't great, but it should give you at least a
decent idea of what this place is supposed to look like. Here is the
map, and below the map is the information on all the locales listed
on the map, as well as all the locations on Terra. Hope you like
it.
Locales in "The Kingdom of Mammon"
-Terra-Refers to everything on the surface of the planet. Terra is in the middle of an ice age. All the Terrans (humans who do not live in Mammon) must live in caves and hunt wolves and mastadons to survive, and so on.
Mount Sombre-The huge mountain that is the home of the main body of Terrans, which is only a few hundred. Melatiah is built within Mount Sombre.
Melatiah-The main village of the Terrans, home of Aegis, and Archelaus as well. It is on the Earth's surface, in the ice age, unlike Mammon. It is inside Mount Sombre.
The Terra Trestle-This is a small golden dome-like building located near Al-Bahr Mayyit. It is directly under the Eastern continent of Mammon, where Kajar is.
Mount Zion-Only in the epilogue. It is actually the hill that Jerusalem is on now in our world, as this story takes place in our next ice age from now. It is where the capital of New Yerushalayim is located in the epilogue.
New Yerushalayim-Only in the epilogue. During the rest of the story, it is buried under tons and tons of snow. After the fall of Mammon, all the ice melts and the snow goes away in a few years, and the people who survived the fall thanks to Janus then find the ruins of an ancient city of the previous era (our civilisation) and they discover from signs and records etc. that the city was called Yerushalayim (The Hebrew name for Jerusalem), so they name it New Yerushalayim, governed by Belthasar, the only remaining really intelligent person.
Al-Bahr Mayyit-Mostly in the epilogue. This is basically the Herbrew name for the Dead Sea, currently located near Jerusalem. The waterfalls from Mammon fall into this Sea, and this is also where the small floating island that contains Herod's Tomb falls at the end of the story. Belthasar rebuilds a sunken submarine that he finds in the Sea of Terra (Mediterranean Sea) and uses it to search for Herod's Tomb in the Dead Sea in the epilogue of the story.
The Sea of Terra-Only in the epilogue. This is actually the Mediterranean Sea. Belthasar mistook it's meaning, thinking it was "Mer Di Terranean", basically Sea of Terra, although we know that this is completely wrong. This is where Belthasar finds the sunken submarine during the epilogue, which he uses to search for Herod's Tomb in Al-Bahr Mayyit.
-Mammon-This is a floating Kingdom, above the clouds and the ice age, where it is warm from the magical power. The imprisoned spirit and immense magical power of the trapped King Herod is what keeps the Kingdom flying, but stationary. There are four continents: The main one with the Royal Palace, Nazareth, and Enhasa, the East continent with Kajar and the Terra Trestle, the North Eastern one that has the imprisoned King Herod's Tomb, and the West one that has the city of Avarice, which contains the gigantic Nightmare Gaol where anyone who opposes the Queen is put to experience perpetual nightmares and give their energy to the Queen.
Royal Palace-This is the headquarters of the Queen, and the center of the Kingdom of Mammon. It is built on top of Nazareth, the capital, which is on top of a large mountain. It is the highest place in the world, just how the Queen likes it. The palace is in the form of two tall twin towers, which are that way so that they can absorb the mental energy of the people without large cables like Enhasa and Avarice use.
Nazareth-The capital of Mammon, it is high atop a large mountain on the main continent. The Royal Palace sits on top of Nazareth. The capital is governed by Gaspar, the Magus of Power, and a rather cruel man, following the ways of his mother the Queen.
Enhasa-The city of dreams, it has a reactor directly connected with the Psi-Evoker on the Western continent, in the city of Avarice, via large cables that stretch across the sky to the floating island where Avarice is located. Enhasa contains the huge Psi-Evoker, the machine that absorbs the dream energy of the people. It is used by people becasue they want to experience the lucid dreams. This city is governed by Melchior, the Magus of Spirit.
Kajar-This city is alone on the Eastern continent along with the Terra trestle. It is here that the technology of Mammon is advanced, and new forms and applications of magic are researched. This city is governed by Belthasar, the Magus of Wisdom.
Avarice-This is the small city located on the Western continent of Mammon. Within Avarice is the Nightmare Gaol, which is essentially the prison of Mammon. All people who oppose the Queen are sent here to experience perpetual nightmares, which releases massive amounts of energy to the Queen. Via the tubes that connect Avarice to Enhasa, the energy from the Nightmare Gaol is transmitted to Enhasa, and then directly to the Royal Palace atop Nazareth. Avarice is governed by the harsh and watchful eye of Manáen, the Queen's loyal assistant and knight.
Herod's Tomb-This is where the body of Herod, the former King of Mammon, lies in stasis, experiencing perpetual nightmares much like the people of the Nightmare Gaol in Avarice, except that his mental energy is so enormous that he requires his own huge Psi-Evoker to take it. He is able to project his spirit from here due to his strong mental powers, which creates the Prophet that aids Aegis on his mission. The people of Mammon have been led to believe by the Queen that this is simply the tomb of their glorious King, not some evil machine that uses his energy to keep Mammon floating and contained so that it is habitable and warm.
