Yes. Cypher starts out as a piece of wood. Drawn on there you can see are the cuts that will be made to make the general shape. The length of the cuts will vary from person to person, this Cypher is tailor made for Mousse, assuming Strider is the same height as Mousse, and the length of the Cypher was calculated accordingly. |
This is just a matter of moving around the cut pieces and then gluing them together. If you can put a puzzle together, you can figure out where the pieces from the first picture went. |
Some metal reinforcement that I have just lying around the house is added to give the Cypher mostly weight at the handle. Otherwise the blade would outweigh the handle and life would be awkward, to say the least. |
Get your PVC ready boys, cos you will need it to work on the baton type handle. Sure you could have started with a toy baton and added the blade on, but that will introduce an inherent weak point where the blade connects to the baton and *crack* The handles are wrapped with leathery type cloth, that provides traction and so the Cypher won't slip out of your hands. |
Simply add on the blade (made of pressed aluminum foil), and paint on the red stripe in the middle and you are set. This is the finished Cypher. All my friends say that the tip is sharp and I could probably hurt someone with it. Bah! They are all just exaggerating. But I probably won't let you handle my version of Cypher as it is fragile (in my book) |
